The Annex, Canon Lane, Wateringbury

Baxtian Construction acquired the appropriate planning approvals and designed and converted this oak framed car port into a one bedroom annex in 2019. The footprint of the original building was extended to accommodate a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area and a double bedroom with a spacious en-suite shower room. The traditional exposed oak frame together with the modern kitchen and bathroom gives the annex a timeless feel. The double height living space has large aluminium doors looking out onto a brick terrace. Fully accessible to wheelchair users.

In 2019 Baxtian Homes acquired this former agricultural building set in the stunning countryside near Marden in the Weald of Kent. Using the existing steel portal frame and retaining the external footprint of the building, Baxtian Homes created three beautiful and unique homes with light and airy interiors and open plan kitchen, living and dining spaces. All of the upstairs bedrooms have balconies with far reaching views overlooking the large gardens with their naturalistic planting which blends into the rural landscape. A central covered courtyard leads to three integral double garages. Each home also has at least one downstairs bedroom and bathroom which have been specifically included to be wheelchair friendly with level access throughout the ground floor. The homes have all been designed to include energy efficient Air Source Heat pumps with underfloor heating throughout keeping thermal efficiency high and running costs low. The elevations are beautifully finished with a rough cedar cladding punctuated by aluminium slot windows and bifold doors. The existing roof was replaced with insulated profiled steel panels to retain the agricultural nature of the building.

Woodgate Close

Baxtian Homes acquired Woodgate Close with full planning permission in 2017. Set in a semi-rural location on the edge of the village of Borden, Kent, the development consists of 9 executive houses built by Baxtian Homes with excellent Eco-credentials and good transport links to both London and France. The layout of the developlment is reminiscent of a farmstead with each home having its own unique character. Woodgate Close consists of three, four and five bedroom homes each with different internal layouts and external finishes. The development was completed in 2019 with most plots being sold off plan which allowed our clients to personalise their kitchens, bathrooms and finishes.

The Barracks, Cranbrook

The Barracks is a stunning collection of Grade II Listed buildings set in historical parklands which Baxtian Homes sympathetically converted into six beautiful homes in 2015. The development is approached via a long sweeping tree lined drive with a tennis court and communal parkland on either side.

At the heart of the development sits the central 14th century Cloth Hall. This oldest part of the building was converted into a spacious five bedroom home with it’s stunning original features retained and reburbished. The west wing forms a characterful four bedroom house to one side of the Cloth hall whilst a previous Victorian extension is now a light and airy beautiful four bedroom house with a hand crafted solid wood kitchen and a natural stone floor. The Oast House was carefully converted into a unique four bedroom home with underfloor heating thoughout. The unusual Hengist Barn was transformed into a modern stylish five bedroom home with a bespoke kitchen and a smaller barn was converted into a one bedroom single storey house. Baxtian’s strong attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship is very apparent throughout this development.

Park Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells
